Just saw a reference to Mastodon instance "gone forever." Hadn't occurred to me that not all instances 'make it.' Obvious once I think about it.I'm guessing the most obvious reason would be not enough people signing up for that instance to make it an interesting place to be. Or the admin can no longer keep it going?Would be interesting to know what the smallest (number of users) instance is.

@smays There are a great many one-user instances, as some people want to host their own content. It is a tricky balance to find an instance with enough people to be interesting (or to be sustainable with donations), but not so many so as to be a disaster moderation-wise!
