@ky0ko I hope the way you're going about this is to tell the coworker and not the boss first

@tindall the only feasible way is kinda to do both at the same timehe won't get fired or anything, they will find something else for him to dohe's a "unix admin" that literally got hired as such by accident after applying for a windows admin position, he knows nothing about unix, and if he were going to be laid off or fired it would've happened already

@tindall it's really going to start with me suddenly replying to emails with long lists of work, with the already-processed results of that work, within about 10 minutesinstead of replying with the unproccessed results over the course of the next 2 daysand then either myself or someone else during a meeting is going to bring up the topic of the fact that i'm doing that work so fast, and i'll unveil it properly and explain how it can benefit the others on the team if they want to use it

@DysphoriaTremens the structure is kinda weird here, and the person handing out the tasks and managing the results of the work done is not actually the managerhowever, yes, it is the work of the person doing that, that this script will largely replaceas well as completely automating a bunch of tedious noninvasive "low hanging fruit" tasks that i would otherwise be doing

@DysphoriaTremens if nothing else, it will allow me to manage my own tasks and completed work effectively, and immediately respond when he reassigns me work i've already done with the past results of that work (and the fact that i had already done it)

@ky0ko Damn, that does place you in an awkward position either way. Unless that person is a piece of shit, in which case the schadenfraude might help
