       @jonw @switchingsocial *it allows the admin to configure the character limit for the instancemastodon doesn't let you change the character limit because gargron thinks admins shouldn't have choice in these things

       @jonw @switchingsocial pleroma also has a config setting that the admin can set to drop posts over a certain character limit (unlike mastodon)it's all about choice
