@Kameyosek It's true though, I mean we all came here from different platforms, lots of you guys who came from Gab are cool. The difference between you and the NPC goblin sort is like the difference between those of us who fled Twitter and the mastosoc-tier blue tick faggots who came here to colonise

@DetectiveHyde @Kameyosek Well, I don't like driving people off. If someone from Gab tries to tell us what we can and cannot do on our own platform, we trigger them until they leave. No need to ban them.

@Kameyosek @DetectiveHyde Yeah. I believe in God, but I don't believe in an Abrahamic one. I also don't claim that he/she is there for sure. You cannot be sure of anything that isn't on this plane of existence, which is something Abratards don't get.The Abrahamic god is far from virtuous, and I would consider them more of a devil if they exist.

@Kameyosek @DetectiveHyde Well, many of them are Christian bible thumpers. Some of them are theocrats. One of the anti-porn ones tried to say that people who draw hentai should be put in prison, and when I asked why, they quoted, you guessed it, the Bible.

@zeta @DetectiveHyde Yea lol, they are not laughing now i guess. their infrastructure got destroyed. If they would be federated, it would not be a problem. Sol, i checked out pleroma. If i got it rigth, its just like mastodon but coded more efficiently? it even has the mastodon interface available.

@Steven_Vervaecke @DetectiveHyde @zeta You could imagine a simultaneous attack on many different instances at once. But it'd be seriously hard to pull off. Fediverse is probably harder to take down than either twitter or facebook.

@DetectiveHyde @zeta Yes i got that far. but mastodon is heavier than pleroma. thats what i want to say. There do seem to be more pleroma instances than mastodon ones. But i really like the vibe and idea of the fediverse. IT is truly amazing. Its sad no more people are on this. I want more Belgians too!

@judgedread @Kameyosek @DetectiveHyde Here's a question. How many fediverse instances get more donations than their expenses? I suppose mastodon.social (the Mastodon flagship) might qualify. Any others?

@judgedread @Kameyosek @DetectiveHyde I was thinking the same so that putting up a crypto address might be sufficient to break even. I was also wondering (@p) whether there is any way to offer "premium" functions in Pleroma: limiting some extensions to a group (who have paid a small fee).

@RobertCardwell @judgedread @Kameyosek hackers.town sold some hoodies. I bought one, because I needed a hoodie and this one said "hackers.town" on it.I don't think there is much you can do to create an artificial value-add like that. Pleroma's AGPL, so if you tweak it, you have to open-source the tweaks. Then other instances can copy the tweaks. You might be able to do it in other fediverse implementations, not Pleroma. You could close registrations and sell accounts if your server is nice.At this point, freespeechextremist.com costs me $5/month, which is basically rounding error. Mastodon wouldn't fit on a $5 VPS. It'd break even if I did donations, or even just panhandled at the train station. I think I could find $5 on the ground every month if I looked hard enough.

@p @judgedread @Kameyosek Thank you for your comment. I'm aware of the AGPL and I don't see that as an objection. The idea isn't to have features that are unique to a site but simply to provide some incentive to pay a small (even tiny) fee. Sites are not fungible even though they run the same software: a site is valuable to a large degree by the locals that hang out there, even if one can follow remotely by a few more steps (many normies would never get that far as even understanding let alone using remote follow).
