@xenostar pleroma users are not a minority or a disenfranchised group. using pleroma is a choice, and time and time again, the people who chose to use pleroma are asshats. not all the time, obvoiusly, but reliably enough that whenever you get a reply from someone being a chud, it's usually from a pleroma instance

@lynnesbian @xenostar i do feel kinda hurt tho because it is sorta unfairthere's freespeech mastodon instances too (liberadon or w/e it's called being bigger than any of the fringe shitty pleroma isntance i'm prety sure)i try to make my instance friendly and welcoming and seeing people spread bad rep about it (especially when the dev team has more queer representation than mastodon's does) just feels unfair

@karen @xenostar all i'm saying is that i've seen a lot more shitty pleroma instances than shitty mastodon instances. i really like the pleroma devs, but i still see it being used a lot for BS. in fact, right now, i'm engaged in about three different arguments with people about "is hate speech good?" and they're all on pleroma instances

@lynnesbianRunning Pleroma is not just a choice. Running Mastodon requires a shitload more resources and more technical knowledge. Pleroma is accessible, Mastodon isn't. Shitheads will use pleroma because they don't wanna spend half a month's salary and 10 hours of labour on setting up an instance that they know is going to get blocked.Meanwhile, it's a boon to the queer community and has accessible devs whom also take part in said community. Suggesting that the pleroma community is full of fash or that the software is somehow inherently affected by it because some fash choose to adopt the cheaper and simpler of two choices is a fucking reductionist piss take and a punch to the face to all our devs and admins who have crafted us a sanctuary that embodies the ideals of the federative model and free software.
