"Two Canadian women have been charged with pretending to practise witchcraft, breaking a little-known law in Canada's criminal code that could soon be out the door."https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-45983540I'm not against prosecuting these fucks, but we have laws against fraud, so singling out witchcraft isn't needed. Also, since witchcraft is refused religious recognition, Christians very often threaten & vandalize our businesses & places of worship without fear of hate crime laws.https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/winnipeg-pagan-witch-hate-crime-1.4005972

The main irony IMO here is people passing judgement based on ignorance. It's par for the course. You can't understand a subject when it's primarily been defined by it's enemies. And given the childishness and apparent stupidity of the commenters right out of the gate, the effort necessary to correct their ignorance would be far more than I'm prepared to invest. So <dusts off hands> thankfully we have those handy drop down options to filter access to the convo. So long #failtroll's...

@museus I have far less patience with this than with other symbols given the prevalence of 'ironic but not really' among white supremacists. There is a joker element (think batman - 'why so serious?') which is grounded in pretending its consequences should be ignored just because it was kidding. Time for them to grow up.

@feonixrift I get that. I think if you embrace the message as stated, it's actually a very good one. That's why I'm down with it. On the other hand, Poe's Law can backfire by giving cover camouflage to actual extremists. It's the double edged knife which is anon culture. This all being said, I think the "witch hunt" aspect of this antifascist movement is equally scary, so I'm not gonna get bent out of shape about it like some do. I added the video link to clarify exactly what I mean by it.
