If you're playing a single-player game and you're not going for a scoreboard, there's literally no reason not to play the game the way you want.Play on the difficulty you want, whether that's easy or ultra.Use as many mods and cheats as you want to make the game into what you want it to be.Reload saves and abuse the hell out of save states if that helps you enjoy the game more.Don't let anyone tell you you're less of a gamer because you "play the game wrong". Just have fun. #gameing

@noelle quite honestly... minus cheat codes and saves, this is true even for multiple player games. You don't need to be doing the most difficult content to be a gamer.

@noelle “Difficulty” settings should be more like this: https://www.businessinsider.com/deus-ex-mankind-divided-has-a-very-smart-difficulty-setting-2016-8

@noelle I usually play 4X games on low difficulty and go for peaceful victory conditions because I like building stuff and being a good leader to my virtual people.

@noelle I really like to map quick-save and -load to controller buttons when playing classic games on an emulator. That let's me play a game like donkey kong country at the pace of something like super meat boy by skipping death animations and not worry about the games lives-system.

@noelle the whole concept of playing games being an identity to live up to is just bizarreThey're games... they're meant to be fun.....

@noelle I never understood why or how "save scumming" became a thing. Like that's how I play games, it's how I've always played games, the quicksave/quickload is there for a reason and it's part of the game mechanics. It's how the devs wanted you to play the game, not something to be looked down upon

@noelle But also stop sometimes and ask yourself the question: Do I actually play the game the way I have fun, or just a optimized way?

@noelle I understand your point and agree with it, but I think there can be a way to play a game wrong. It usually comes down to designer mistakes allowing you to optimize the fun out of their game. Thus I was not enjoying Dark Souls very much until someone told me I should try to stop using a shield and be less cautious. That made for a harder game but a better experience. So if you're not having fun, someone telling you (politely) that you're playing the game wrong may sometimes be right. :]

@lertsenem There's a substantial difference between "I'm not enjoying this." "You might enjoy it better if..." and "I'm enjoying this." "But you're not playing it right!", and the latter is what I'm talking about.

@noelle Yes, you're right, sorry. I guess our point is actually the same in the end: find a way to play that you can enjoy.
