Ugh I made a doctors appointment for my shoulder. If I have to quit riding a second type of bike because of an injury caused by that bike I will probably only try 3-4 more types of bikes before I admit defeat

@stunt_bird I recently took a super shitty fall mtn biking and my shoulder hasn’t been the same - is yours chronic or something more recent?

@DocHammertimer it’s been getting worse and worse, I’ve smacked it into a bunch of trees misjudging clearance (always left side, which is crazy) and I’m sure my crummy fork isn’t helping absorb much so it’s all going to my shoulders

@DocHammertimer it used to go away in a day or two but now it’s hanging around, I think mostly because I did such a long descent over nothing but huge roots that I probably white knuckled a bit and got really jarred

@stunt_bird that’s a total bummer man I’m sorry. Got to do what you love though! Different handle bars and seat positions don’t help?

@DocHammertimer been wondering if narrower bars might help but I’m thinking the main issue is the low end fork so I’m saving for a new bike instead of trying stuff haha

@DocHammertimer man nobody on PB is ever selling anything cheaper than a low end new bike, it’s like $6k bikes selling for $4k not $2500 bikes selling for $1200 like I need haha

@DocHammertimer yeah I saw backcountry, the 2018 transitions are real good prices, but I have a transition dealer like 20 minutes away, might see if they have demos. Never rode one but they look great and the scout seems like the right fit travelwise

@DocHammertimer I’m very susceptible to branding but only in MTB and “party in the woods” has fully tricked me into thinking this is the bike for me

@DocHammertimer I buy WTB tires because the maxxis vibe is just too aggressive. Fully aware this is all very dumb haha

@DocHammertimer like if I’m being logical I should buy the YT that just dropped to $2000 because that’s probably the best $2000 bike ever made but their whole thing is like “you’re fuckin aggressive and we are too, let’s be aggressive” and I would like them to calm down

@stunt_bird yeah that’s fair. I traded in a 27.5 giant to this and I love the 29. It’s so effortlessly fast, quick and nimble without feeling twitchy

@DocHammertimer I really gotta check one out, as long as I’m clear to ride there’s a demo at a giant shop in a few weeks, might check out the new 29er
