@hhardy01 Because there is enough uspol in the news, other social media and around the water cooler. Some people come here to get away from that. As a courtesy to them, I CW stuff. It's not self censorship and it's actually quite common on our instance.

@hhardy01 We're going to have to agree to disagree, the the CW wars have left a wide path of destruction across part of the fediverse and I came down of the side of CWing uspol. No hard feelings, that's just me.

@sconlan The problem is that this creates silos and an echo chamber effect, where people see only political views they want to see. That is immensely destructive to a democratic society.There cannot be a "free marketplace of ideas" if only one point of view is seen and considered.
