@tom The supercut of Episode 1, since the real episode 1 is just a barely-edited MBMBaM episode with their dad

@tom there's two seasons of TAZ, one of which is finished and one of which is still early-oni guess the biggest question is: do you prefer classic DnD 5e or modern-day cryptid hunting shenanigans?

@tom ok rad, that one's the newest season, TAZ Amnesty. it's best to start at the top, since it's sort of a continuous story where the characters develop over smaller, four-or-five-episode arcs. there's the setup episode at http://www.maximumfun.org/adventure-zone/setup-adventure-zone-amnesty where they introduce the characters/world, which is followed by episode 1 at http://www.maximumfun.org/adventure-zone/adventure-zone-amnesty-episode-1. it's not 100% necessary to listen to the setup episode but it gives you a good feel for the characters and players

@HTHR cool! tysm! Are the two seasons connected at all or can I listen to the current one now and the first one later?

@tom not connected at all!!! season 1 is about a fantasy world with some sci-fi elements, and season 2 is about a small town in west virginia. no overlap at all, though sometimes the players make jokes about things that happened in the previous season

@Tom i'll admit it starts pretty slow, but the things at the beginning are important enough to start thereif you're wondering when things stop being so slow, murder on the rockport express is about when things really get going! (and it gets better and better pretty consistently from that point)

@tom in the chronology, the first few episodes of Amnesty took place as a mini-arc during the break between seasons 1 and 2 while they tried to figure out what to do for season 2 by running a few mini-arcs. so after Amnesty episode 5 you'll see a few episodes of TAZ Dust, which you can skip and go directly to Amnesty episode 6

@Tom well, each is a separate storythe first is like a classic DnD campaign, but it grows into a pretty elaborate story spanning multiple planes of existence, and ends up having some really fantastic productionit's a nice length too--69 episodesafter that, they do a few mini-arcs to try out different games--and finally settle on a more story based monster of the week game where they hunt down supernatural creatures while trying to keep their existence under wraps

@tom imo listen to Amnesty first, it's the current arc so you'll be able to keep up with new episodes as they come up - as others have said, it's a totally unrelated story from Balance, which is the most iconic (and longest) arc. So basically catch up with Amnesty, then start listening to Balance imo
