I assembled an L-shaped table today. Unfortunately I have not yet figured out how to position my PC &co on it such that it would be more convenient than before, right now it's worse even though I have more horizontal space

I feel bad about shooting myself down right after so much work but it's a table for 70€ on Amazon and the positive reviews must have been a lie. The parts barely fit together.

@Gargron Was it a 3rd-Party Seller? I heard an NPR story the other day about fake reviews on eBay and Amazon that have made me really question them.

@Robby Does it say "sold by: ___" when it's 3rd party? If so then yes, it was

I would have preferred to get something from Ikea but they had such a poor selection of L-shaped tables I had to look on Amazon instead 😦

@Gargron Yes. Those are the most problematic (unless it was a big company like Walmart), since it's apparently because fairly easy to use a service to buy fake reviews for your products - even ones from "verified buyers."

@Gargron I absolutely love IKEA's adjustable sit / stand desk. Combine that with a Alex drawer unit on the side, and I have way more space

@Gargron but yeah, I was on the look out for cheap L-shaped desks online and couldn't find any that jumped out at me

@gargron Amazon got a lot worse when they went from being a store to a flea market that looks like a store. The reviews might not even have been lies. Sometimes they just send different products to different people, for the same listing.

@GargronTo be fair, Amazon does home some pretty high quality desks. IKEA, even though it is pretty much centred around furniture, doesn't have as much as a big selection as Amazon does, Amazon being the user sale shop it is.It is strange, as large superstores alike IKEA are trying their very hardist to compete with online competetors, IKEA doesn't seem to be doing the best job of it at the moment.

@Gargron with regards the positioning last time I used one I found it helped to have the monitor in the corner of the L and keyboard in front of it for maximum leg room under the desk, and sort of desk space neatly on each side. More like a V than an L.
