I get so incredibly pissed off when someone quotes the whole, "75% of trans kids grow out of it! It's SCIENCE!" The number can be anywhere anywhere from 60 to 95% but still. NO IT ISN'T. IT JUST ISN'T.

The study wasn't even looking for that! It was looking for indicators of whether or not dysphoria was likely to persist! And they found them! The AUTHOR SAYS THAT READING IT IN THAT WAY IS WRONG.

Like, we knew that the sample size was small, that's true in general of these studies. We also knew that many families didn't respond. AND that the data came from surveys from the parents who may not have been as forthcoming. AND many of the kids were ALREADY known to be unlikely to be trans.
