If someone insists that voter IDs are a good thing and that the address on the ID should match a voter's home address, ask them to explain, specifically, why the homeless shouldn't be allowed to vote. Make them say it.

@noelle Adding to this: Explain why Native Americans living on reservations, where street addresses aren't even a thing, also should not be allowed to vote. This is a thing that is happening in North Dakota right now. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/native-americans-north-dakota-fight-protect-voting-rights/story?id=58585206

@salameleon The thing is, we know they're racist. They're perfectly okay with Native Americans not voting. But they claim to care about the lower classes, so this forces them to either say "fuck the poor" or admit that maybe voter ID is a bad idea.

@noelle Voter IDs are fine just as long they match the voter's picture, and as long as everyone is given the right to vote. Here in Mexico there wasn't as much voter suppression as there was voting fraud. IDs with photo were introduced as a countermeasure for the ruling party to do massive vote fraud. But that is Mexico. The US is an entirely different monster.

@rick_777 The problem is that in the US, "voter ID" means "state ID". You can't get a state ID without a registered address, you have to pay to get a state ID, and in many states you have to travel more than an hour to get to a place where you can GET a state ID. It's explicitly disenfranchising.
