       evil being set up as a battle that is fought solely within a person can easily lead to extremely wishy-washy resolution; sometimes you just have to roll up your sleeves and fight some fucking demons.

       thinking about how this movie goes from "hell isn't real" -> "hell is real and inevitable" -> "hell is real and I will fucking fight it". which one of these is a more useful framing of evil?
