@Cat 's comment about Joey's computer name in Hackers has me curious. What do you name your computers? Do you use themes? Are you proud of any, and if so, why?

@tomasino @Cat Husband use(s) Star Trek ships/stations. I think my tablet is the shuttlepod because he named it. I use names of cats I used to have for my laptops. I’m only on laptop #2 so I should be good for 4 more before I get to “Puffy Buffy”(I was like 3, 4 years old. And she was very puffy. Fluffy, really.)

@satchmoz my current naming convention is notable Romans. It was originally Roman senators, but a I've hit on a few that didn't hold that position. In college I used women's names that sounded really bitchy because computers hated me and made life difficult. Friggin Cassie!

@Cat @tomasino Fruit, particularly citris. Currently have yuzu, pomela and lime. It started when I named a macbook "orenji" out of protest.I used to name servers after Slayers: lina, goury, amelia, zelgadis. But sometimes you have to retire a server... and it is sad. So despite loving single server machines and hosting, I tend to treat servers, how do meat eaters say? More like cows than puppies? =PAlso, I name roles, now. So my main lappy is always yuzu, my media server is always lime, etc.

@tomasino @Cat I almost always name them after demons, for reasons that should be obvious. My current machine is named Aculeus, the Latin word Jerome used for the thorn in Paul's side :)

@tomasino late to the party but my first three were named Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos respectively but everything after that is pretty loosey-goosey, my iMac was named Bendemolena, my old G4 is named Odekochan because the big round edges remind me of a high forehead and my macbook is named Tsundere because I had a love-hate relationship with macs for the longest time hahahaha.

@tomasino My eeePC is named Ruffian because he's a tough little dude who won't quit. And then there's Baud Baby that will run baud.baby eventually and the new rig for the Asterisk stuff is unimaginatively named SecretBunnyBox because it is the box for Secret Bunny Base

@tomasino @Cat My iMac's named "Griffonstone" and has an appropriate MLP theme. My Macbook Air isn't themed, but is named "Derptop". My Macbook A1181 is called "Pokétopia" and will be getting an appropriate theme once I'm not-lazy.There's also my Windows desktop called "SkyTower", my Windows laptop called "Zero Isle", my iMac G3 called "DarknessRidge", and my RPi0W called "LapisCave", all from Pokémon Mystery Dungeon.
