@fribbledom ALARM! ALARM! The entropy department has lost significant amounts of entropy. Quickly, spill some rice to restore safe entropy levels.

@tursiops I got rid of it and actually pulled it out of the rack by now. That switch had an active cooling system of doom.

@Wolf480plIt's a PC Engines APU. Essentially an over-powered system board with an AMD x86 CPU, which you can turn into a VPN router / switch.

@fribbledom cool!Btw. could you tell me more about this setup?I'm curious where the 2 white cables plugged into the APU go, and where do the 3 yellow cabbles not plugged anywhere come from, and why you have 7 power plugs but only 6 devices (including 2 power strips) that need power, out of which one has to be powered from outside the cabinet, and... oh man so many questions.

@Wolf480pl The two white cables from the APU go to a cable/DSL connection and a wireless uplink, while the yellow cables are connected to a separate server rack (in theory). The "missing" device requiring power is a file-server sitting outside of the rack for cooling reasons.

@samjones Nothing special, really: a (VPN) router, a couple switches, as well as a PoE installation for a wireless uplink.

@fribbledom so you're dual-homed? cool!Does that yellow cable on the left of the TP-Link also go to the server rack? Also, what's that white cable plugged into the 5th socket on the upper patch panel?Oh, and that 5 sockets on the patch panel with orange cables plugged into them - are they special, compared to the ones with blue cables?
