       Somebody once told me that Mastodon’s hardcoded character limit “protected marginalized people from abuse.”I just looked at him like he had lost his goddamned mind and walked away.

       i think the reality is, the person who claimed that, was on a smaller mastodon instance that had no exposure to the instances that fediverse drama tends to surround
