if you want to film a practical miniature shot with water in it, but obviously you cant use water because water has too much surface tension so it looks too small, you use something like ethanol right? but then you get your studio lights too close and it goes on fire, and you cant even see the fire!!!! jeez! so anyway what im saying is what can you use instead so that won't happen

@SuricrasiaOnline iirc these make it less 'droppy' but less runny too?? although it probably depends on what you use? need to look into it

@jk Would it work if you mixed something with the water that reduced its surface tension?

@lyliawisteria i think it might not be dense enough!!!! also i dont think i can keep it liquid for very long. also i dont think i can get the room dry enough to prevent massive clouds of water and shit gettin in the way,

@jk TBH, most of the things I can think of are either flammable or... just not something you want to be messing with. You could try a heavier alcohol. Maybe butanol. That has a boiling point of 177.7°C, so it's much less likely to vapourise, and it has a higher flashpoint. Also, if you do manage to set it on fire, the flames will be visible.

@jk Maybe film at a different speed to compensate? Or, better yet, use really big miniatures?
