       Interesting that my wife thinks Ubuntu "needs to update a lot" compared to Windows 10. The updates include all the software in addition to the OS and it doesn't reboot without warning but that doesn't help the perception that it needs to update more often.I guess if she hadn't been using Windows on an SSD before she would have said Windows updates were worse.

       Ubuntu can do security updates automatically in the background now so I don't know why it doesn't have an option to do all updates that way and just get on with it.

I noticed between my Ubuntu MATE and Debian 9.5 installs that the former pops up a window saying "you've got updates!" daily, even if it's just for one really small package! 🤦‍♂️
