Once I'm done with my semester projects, I want to build a custom Mastodon client. The four panel thing isn't working out for me

Desires:1. A vacant interface with nothing but the latest toots (hehe, toots)2. Notifications tucked away, only appearing when necessary3. Hidden tootbox that can be summoned by keypress4. Achromatic UI, of course

@joshavanier have you tried the alternative interfaces? There one that look exactly like Twitter.com the web version and one that’s super minimal and light. I can give you links if you want.

@joshavanier there's a handful of python terminal tools on GH, but I haven't found one that was as convenient as Mosto in Vivaldi sidebar.

@joshavanier On iOS I use Toot! and Tootdon. Both have pros and cons. I guess they are still early in development. On desktop (in web browser), I know of Pinafore and Halcyon. Both have pros and cons too. It’s the beauty of mastodon: you can use whatever client you like!

@narF I've been using Mastalab on Android and it's been wonderful so far. It lets me hide tabs I don't need from the nav bar
