       @sir yeah, security/privacy adds a bunch of complexity to this. And yeah 302 /search/ redirects annoy me to no end. Same goes for ISP dns' hijacking requests to redirect to their (usually awful) search engine

       @sir Encountering HTTP 410 Gone should be a much more common occurrence. The number of Not Founds we all encounter every day just demonstrates that no one have bothered reading the HTTP specifications in a very long time.
