@citrustwee call me racist (lol) but i inherently distrust the hype around any rap album that too many white ppl like

@citrustwee yes i am not saying he's bad i am just saying when a fuckload of white ppl tell me a hip hop album is one of the greatest ever i can almost guarantee i will be underwhelmed.TPAB has been a great tool for BLM and other movements, i'm not trying to knock kendrick just the way white ppl hype shit

@citrustwee should def listen to section 80. Has some of my favorite songs of his and overly dedicated is less focused but still pretty good. But DAMN is probably bad to judge him off of imo it’s very pop-y

@citrustwee I’d hesitate to agree that he’s THAT overrated in general (I’d have trouble naming any artist with his hype that couldn’t be called overrated), but he is DEFINITELY not the “woke king” or whatever that he’s propped up as by the media. It’s also not an accident that one of the biggest “woke” rappers talks so much about black on black crime but I’m white so I’m going to leave that point for a POC to finish.

@citrustwee @Kidsgobroke @citrustwee @Kidsgobroke listen to untitled unmastered, it’s better than tpab I think and one of the only popular “jazzy” hip hop albums to feature actual jazz music rather than just a beat w/ a horn sample on it. Also rigamortus from section.80 is an enormous fucking banger

@realmaxkeeble @citrustwee also, i know we’re just fulfilling the things the others said in that thread considering Max and I are white but.... idk tpab is reeeeeaaally good..,. i don’t think anyone is capable of naming an album the “goat” but tpab is certainly a masterpiece
