Microsoft Word is a well-designed program that only crashes if you do absurd things like *looks at paper* try to use it to open .doc files

@citrustwee @spookcentral I am so stunted by the necessity of word that I’m basically incapable of using anything else, I wish I could use open office but my competency is so low.

@spookcentral @citrustwee i used google docs for a while, but formatting can be a pain sometimes, and my biggest concern is security. google security is really bad and they review content without permission and will lock people out of their own docs. I deal with confidential materials so privacy is a priority for me

@peemobil I like how sometimes it'll just start making your words bold for no reason

@spookcentral@citrustwee @SillyZachI like the idea of Google docs but I don't like how their ToS snatches your intellectual property. Google's also a pretty shady company in general. It's really nice for group projects though, I wish I could find a better alternative.

@Che5hire @spookcentral @citrustwee ironically, I like office 365 for group work. similar features to google docs but you can work either in the browser or in the app itself, full features, notes/ comments all work great

@spookcentral the whole subscription thing is absolutely batshit too. I gave Google docs a second look (years ago it really sucked) and it does what I need so I use that for school.
