For months water has been dripping into our fridge from the freezer above it, so much so that it pools in the well under the crisper and soaks everything. Today I discovered that the condensor? for the freezer has a heat sink that runs the length of the fridge behind a thin metal plate and VENTS INTO THE FREEZER. I discovered this by investigating the sound of water evaporating inside the freezer as it dripped onto the metal blades of the heat sink and *sizzling*.

@evilchili FYI some refrigerators have a defroster pan that is installed near the hottest region of the bottom of the fridge. When the "evaporator" (coldest part in freezer/fan blown), ices up, the condensor flows hot to the evaporator and melts the buildup of frost. Which melts and drips over/down a hot section. #RefrigerationTheory

@woodentulip this is essentially what I have discovered. I do not care for it. Might try to insulate the evaporator better to avoid that ice.
