@neauoire Have you seen this? It's a font that supposedly aids recollection of any text that uses it. http://sansforgetica.rmit/

@jrc03c @neauoire I hope y'all don't mind me chiming in with pessimism, but the idea of "a font that helps you remember things" is nonsense. If the point is that harder-to-read text is more memorable, you'd be better off setting the it in yellow on white, or just standing farther away.

@craze @neauoire Yeah, that's fair. Are you saying that it doesn't work at all, or that it's no better than those other methods, or both?

@jrc03c @neauoire When you read, your brain is mostly at rest. When something interrupts your reading, or when you're looking at something which is difficult to read, it becomes more alert — so the argument that Sans Forgetica makes is accurate, you probably do remember things better. But anything which interferes with your reading ability, or boosts your alertness, would have the same effect. Having a good breakfast is probably easier than putting everything in a special font, no?

@craze @neauoire Yeah, I think that's the right analysis. But it could be that, if you want to have the highest chance of remembering some content, you'd want to employ as many recall strategies as possible. Or it may be that, in some cases, it's simply not possible to employ other strategies. The font just provides another option, I suppose.

@jrc03c @neauoire I don't doubt it, and if anything I'm glad to see more people considering the impact of type on comprehension. Then again, it's always annoying to see type design making the news without any input from practicing type designers.

@craze @jrc03c Sorry for the delay, I just woke up. I've looked at the project, and I find it interesting. It shares some of the same ideas than Shorthand scripts.

@craze @jrc03c That being said, the type itself is very uninteresting, and some of the blocking work is totally weird, like the character "c", the "w", the "g", and worst of all, the lowercase K.Idea: 4/5Realisation: 1/5
