@lain The irony is, that scientists have to pay a LOT of money to even get published. Usually paid by universities, ergo taxpayer money. So publishers want us to pay twice.The excuse is peer review. Peer review would be way cheaper and maybe free, if this was not the case.The other excuse is running costs of servers and shit.. Today's prices? lolIf these excuses had merit, then why is the global sci-industry revenue £19bn per year? Yes, 19,000,000,000 pounds per year.
