Even more so with the xbox line because it's literally just running with PC hardware, the shit is x86 and using a normal ass AMD GPU right

@Ocean Even more so with the PS4 than Xbox I'd argue, because not only is it the same normal ass AMD x86 cpu and AMD GPU as the Xbox, but Sony let you officially install linux on the PS2 and PS3

@Ocean the PS4's OS is already FreeBSD based and you can run Linux on it through hacks and homebrew. You can even install steam and play regular PC gameshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHjTXYBSRck

@Ocean I think at least part of it is that many consoles are subsidised by the games that they sell for them. So if people were buying consoles to use as PCs, the manufacturer would not be making as much money on them.Plus many people would break it and they would have to support it. (Or build in some isolation, costing money)
