@kai technically he's not wrong. Getting everything you ever wanted in one shot is a shock to the system if you're not prepared for it.I mean, it looks like complaining about being loaded, but it's a change in conditions like any other, with all the psychological ramifications attached to that shit.

@cybik I think it was an interview with Moby where he said he was most depressed at his most successful, because he felt he had nothing to aspire to.

@kai You don’t.Or maybe you need to get there first to understand what to do next. Something like: If you don’t understand it that means you aren’t fully there yet.

@kai why doesn't he just pay for everyone he knows to not have to work? Like there are better things he could do with his money (obviously) but he complains about waiting for friends who have jobs to finish work and it's like bro why do they have jobs

@kai @njha it's not achiements to be marked off, it's perpetual processes that has to be sustained. It's most obvious with physical needs such as food; you can't just eat the biggest, best meal, and then be "done eating forever".It's the same with self-actualization; you have to keep self-actualizing to be self-fulfilled.

@curio he could have just kept the company and kept his friends employed. Maybe invested in the sort of aggressive marketing and product placement that Microsoft did.

@zatnosk @njha it's funny you say that; one of the older guys in my model train club is building certainly his last locomotive - a final masterpiece. Even when he started it years ago, he talked about getting the timing just right…
