       maybe, vim is all about /changing/, it phrases nearly everything as a /change/. maybe emacs is all about /positioning/, it phrases everything as getting your cursor somewhere to insert or delete textfor me, someone obsessed with iterating and incremental changes, vim feels right, but those paradigms are personal and i can understand preferring another
