this may be an unpopular take but if i heard a friend of twenty years had been accused of rape i would absolutely check in with them and find out what they had to say rather than instantly and publicly turning on them. why? because i talk to my male friends about assault, harassment, misogyny, etc., and i don't stay friends with people who don't take that shit very seriously.

@howbluetheanger My opinion on things is: if you are able to INSTANTLY turn on someone you are close personal friends with, no matter the allegation, you are either not really friends with them or you are some kind of sociopath. It's normal to take a moment to read through everything and find out what is going on.
