So https://epub.press is pretty neat and works well from my brief testing of the Firefox extension. Gist is you open the articles you want converted in tabs then click the button and it converts them all into an eBook and emails it to you.

@kelbot That sounds rad. I've been meaning to set up something in Calibre that would automatically pull news and ship it to my kindle.Something like this would be super cool to augment that functionality, but I'd need to convert it to Mobi along the way somehow.

@halfcutskeleton I agree that it will be good for augmenting. I still need a more automated system for converting some feeds to epubs.

@kelbot This is what I'm planning on implementing: https://www.howtogeek.com/115178/how-to-convert-news-feeds-to-ebooks-with-calibre/I think this combined w/ Calibre headless server is the ticket.

@halfcutskeleton Calibre may be what I end up using but I wish I could rip out just the news feed conversion tools instead of having to install the whole big application.

@kelbot that’s interesting. I was saving pages and converting using pandoc, but needless to say, it didn’t last that way

@kelbot have you looked into wallabag? it has similar functionality without the ebook as a predep - it has that as an option for export to your devices though, which makes it afantastic middle ware for archival.

@kelbot Check this out: https://github.com/lazzarello/rss-epub-archiverProject is super old, but you could fork and update it. That + a script w/ your RSS feeds + cron or systemd timer may work for you.

@chuck I have looked into it and I really like the project. I think it is just...more than I need. I'm just going for super simple push some epub articles to my ereader. I don't want to save them or anything.

@kelbot fair enough, it is a large hammer for smallish problems. :)

@chuck I may end up deploying anyways at some point if I don't come up with a system i'm satisfied with.
