@arigato who cares what's a career, we're all getting fucked over hardcore by Capitalism and need to dismantle it before they destroy the planetwhy should I care if someone wants to survive off making videos, I'm just trying to survive doing other weird shit that capitalists want to pay me for

@arigato why tho? it's another form of creating, soon automation will get good enough that there won't be a ton of production needed. And like, so what? Why is only producing things for capitalists and consumerism the only thing that justifies a career? Artists don't "produce" anything and I'd say that's definitely still a career, music is the same way :s All of these output things that entertain for an amount of time, I don't see what the arbitrary line for youtubing is

@_ because,,, it isnt long lasting and it isnt guaranteed to have good pay. you cant live your life dreaming to be a famous youtuber when that isnt guarenteed to happen and wont last forever. Im as socialist as anyone but im not a dumbass who wants to go broke.

@arigato Is.. any career choice nowadays guaranteed to happen and will last forever, especially with the amount of automation we'll have in the near future? These aren't youtuber-specific things, these are just.. you personally don't think the work is valuable because it doesn't produce something you can consume, yet you probably watch youtube videos so?????

@_ you're missing the point so I guess i have to explain it in lamen's termsyou can't put all your eggs in one basket and drop everything for youtube, and it is easy to become irrelevant and slip. So dropping college for youtube or not going to college at all to go to youtube is just a dumb choice. Youtube is a side hustle, no more no less until you reach million+ subscriber status
