Does anyone here rely on screen readers or #braille or something? How does your tool recognise #hashtags? Is the usage of many tags rather annoying for you?

@martin i don't use them, but i think "spaming" hastags is annoying for a "normal" reader too? Dunno why someone need to put like 10 hastags in a 30 word post.

@martin One thing I've heard is that apparently capitalization inside hashtags is important. I.e. "BringBackNarf", not "bringbacknarf".

@rick @martinthere are users struggling to find interaction.unless replying to someone toots are mostly ignored.if you hashtag your own posts and find someone else has too, interact with them.

@martin @marco Marco, maybe you can help answer that question? I also wouldn't mind knowing how hashtags are affecting screen readers.

I use the Orca screen reader and GNUSocial. hashtags do not present any special problem; they are read as such, and are presented as links. Browser is the latest firefox. Orca has descriptions for common imojis; too many of these can slow down reading.

@davehuntAha, you're right! Emojis are problematic as well!
