Apple Macintosh was much cheaper than Xerox Star. Nowadays, I can't find Macbook do anything interesting than other computers. MacBook isn't even cheap.

@veer66 go with lenovo x1 carbon. Its very expensive but still cheaper than a ma book pro with older hardware

@veer66 guys like us don't need a preinstalled os. We setup the distribution of our choice and the programs and desktop environments that feed our needs the most. That's the Linux way. That's freedom.

@bencman I want to train unsupervised machine translation, fix my Rust programs, make a weather station, adjust screen contrast on X11 on NetBSD. πIn reality, I'm fixing my academic writing and posting here. π
