Wasabi must be down, I can't upload the MicroUI update preview to the @pixelfed account 🙄 I heard Digital Ocean Spaces is more reliable and the same price.

@dansup @pixelfed You can use HDD they are quite cheap but slow, it would not be an issue for image and media with cloud flare on

@dansup True but you said same price, there is a huge price difference and for running these type of instance i think you need money it better to run these service in as cheap as possible. What your thought on using HDD?

@inditoot Pixelfed uses HDD for now and it seems to be more reliable than Wasabi. 22k photos/videos have been uploaded and its only taking 7gb of space.

@dansup @pixelfed I'm planning on using DigitalOcean Spaces when I launch Koype Hub (already been testing with it since beta and had really good experience with it).But I also use DigitalOcean for everything so lol

@dansup @pixelfed It'll be the hosted version of Koype; so people wouldn't have to spin up a server to use it (kinda like how Wordpress has a hosted solution)

@dansup whatever masto.host is doing; I'd want it to be like that. To be honest, I might make it super duper simple in the beginning (and manual via Terraform and Ansible configs)

@inditoot @dansup I'm going to host pixelfed on hetzner. Really cheap VMs, and I already have storagebox there (for this Mastodon instance and for some personal backups). Apparently they also offer cheap SSD storage now.Not sure if anything can beat $3/month for VM with 2GB RAM / 20GB SSD / 20TB bandwidth.
