       @jerry Got a TV with a built-in Roku. Recently switched ISPs.  New ISP (which manages router) seems to boot it from the network after long periods of "inactivity" (which are almost certainly not inactive).

       @jerry Roku's not flawless on the privacy front either, but so far DNS blackholing keeps that easy. Obviously that's not a viable solution for a lot of people, though. Maybe if enough sons-in-law/nephews/etc setup enough piholes...

       @jerry I complain all the time about not being able to get a tv without smart features anymore. Give me 2x the hdmi ports and powered USB and I’ll be super happy. You can keep your half-assed attempts at a multimedia experience and the ad revenue you get from plastering ads on my home screen thank you very much.
