Sometimes it still blows me away that people can just start a brand new Mastodon server, I can follow them, and it just works

@Gargron If a person with a lot of Ruby/Rails experience wanted to get involved where would you start?

@Skryking @GargronI think https://docs.joinmastodon.org/development/overview/ lacks information like where to start if you want to get involved, what kind of github issues to look for, what would be and what definitely wouldn’t get merged…

@Gargron Does it just work because of Mastodon? Or because of ActivityPub? Either way: thank you!

@aeveltstra @Gargron Because of both of them, without Mastodon, we wouldn’t be able to federate over ActivityPub using Mastodon, without ActivityPub we wouldn’t be able to use Mastodon to federate over ActivityPub ;)
