How do you use the directory feature on dot social? I see the list, but no way to edit profile or opt in or anything.Is this another thing I should be seeing, but my browser isn't displaying it?

@NezchanGo to your profile and edit your bio to add hashtags of your interests. Then beneath that where the page mentions locking your account there's the option to list your account in the profile directory. Click that to opt in, then when you check the explore page you should now appear on it

@PhotonQyv So they force people to remove stuff from their bio to make room if they want to be discoverable with interest hashtags?That's...a terrible design choice.

@NezchanI know, supposedly the bio section has been expanded, but not by much.Since I like my existing bio, which is a slightly compressed poem, what I wrote, I've managed to hashtag a few of the words. With a whole character to spare!Really don't think it's been thought through.Which, let's face it, isn't all that surprising for #Mastodon

@PhotonQyv It's weird, because I saw a post from the .ART instance that suggests there's a field you can enter hashtag interests in from the actual directory page. And as far as I know they're not using a custom version of mastodon or anything.

@PhotonQyv Ah, looks like I misread it. You are supposed to add tags to your bio, which of course will take up valuable space and make it look like a mess. Nice.

@Nezchan No worries (:*I was trying to find any documentation for you, but the tootsuite stuff on Github doesn't mention profile directory either.The changelog might, and I know Garg was going on about writing something or other.
