       I think that my transness has a lot to do with my tenaciousness and refusal to accept anything that imposes arbitrary and pointless restrictions on me. No matter how pointless or unimportant gender might be, I would just rather be a girl and there's no reason at all that I shouldn't be able to, and that's the entire recipe for something I'll fight for to my last breath.

       In this case, "I'd rather be a girl" has no meaningful difference from "I am a girl", and since I have wanted to be a girl all my life, so have I been one.
