If I want to install a Matrix server for private use, and do not need it to talk to other Matrix servers, does anyone know if changing the hostname later is okay?

@Gargron @matrix I dream of a future where protocols like activitypub and matrix are combined into a single, comprehensive communications suite. Oh, you want to post something on the fediverse? Just use the social app features of "Communicator X" (provided by pleroma or Mastodon underneath). Oh, you want to chat on a specific topic/room/team? Just use the chat features of (the same) "Communicator X" (provided by matrix client like riot etc.). I normally subscribe to the *nix approach of "do one thing, and do it well"...but office suites (e.g. LibreOffice, MS office, etc.) have certainly made bundling of apps work pretty well. ;-)

@mxuribe @Gargron quite an interesting experience over the last few weeks has been rolling out full bridging between Matrix & XMPP, and seeing dogs & cats living together in peace and harmony at last. Can't wait to see activitypub bridging too. wish we had bandwidth to work on it.
