Good to see the -Filtered- working in my Home column. Up til now the accounts I followed used CWs only.

@cosullivan can you share your filters? are you filtering Twitter? are you using Mastalab or web client?

@eliasg @maiki I'm filtering phrases. I could filter out Twitter, but most people use a CW for that and so not an issue. I am using the traditional web interface. I'd love to see filters on brutaldon, but that goes against its aesthetic. Next toot from me will be a DM wit my filter phrases.

@cosullivan does the tag version of a filtered phrase catch the non-tag version, as well?

@maiki @cosullivan every time i open filters i can't come up with anything. a filter suggestion thread could be interesting, even if only a few examples (i imagine few might want to publish their own list of trigger-associated words to the public www)

@maiki yes I believe it does. I have no counterexamples save for a friend who thought he'd be clever with 'bil beaton.'

@nydel Folks' names. The president, people going to jail because they got caught after decades of horribleness, weird memes. I've got nothing, but that's mostly because I make **not** following folks an art! ^_~

@nydel @maiki I find Mastodon reliably calm and friendly, on occasion too quiet, thanks to my filters. Thus the ambiance inspires me to show a more proximate version of my 'best self.'

@cosullivan I feel the same way!I've actually become a lot less sarcastic (to individuals) than I've been, in recognition of have a white bearded face in my avatar: I don't deal with any of the shit that all my peeps deal with by default, and aside from calling it out and working against it, I really need to make sure I am not a casual ship in the night that jumps on the dog pile. And I feel that energy come back, I meet great people. Your description is apt. In fact...
