Working with quite old Java project makes me think "yeah, I understand how someone may think static typing sucks".No structural types, no ADTs, quite dumb generics, little expressiveness and very verbose and of course no HKT (at least they have some kind of traits now).Don't be fooled, folks, that's not what I mean by "static typing".

@charlag Haskell is probably great but I am afraid that I won't make anything useful in my lifetime with Haskell. 😓 Btw I keep learning it.

@veer66 I've read LYAH and I only tried to use it for one project and gave up and continued in JS. Wire sever is written and Haskell and several interesting things are written in Purescript. I think it's worth learning for it's own sake.

@veer66 @charlag +1 for LYAH as an introductory resource. I never even finished it but it’s good for getting off the ground. Just hang in there. It’s a lot of new concepts, but once you get used to the syntax and some of the idiosyncrasies things will start to click. Functional programming is a very different mindset, but I think it’s a worthwhile for all programmers to understand the patterns, even if they only use imperative languages.

@kwarrtz @veer66 actually I think that LYAH is not very good and it was widely criticized by the community. It can either work or not work for you.People also recommend this http://www.happylearnhaskelltutorial.com/And Monoid Mary wrote a book too(sorry, op, I'm just documenting it)
