Rate this idea: I’ve been a Mac user for a few years now but I’m looking to try a Linux distribution. Feeling kind of overwhelmed at all of the terminology I don’t understand, but I’m thinking of trying Linux Mint 19? Does any of that make sense?

@qwert I like Fedora and Arch.Arch is more time-consuming to install but perfectly customizable (and so, what I prefer on my systems), while Fedora installs pretty rapidly and works well for most people “out of the box.”

@SuperFloppies some reviews I read said arch is fairly advanced. Will this be an obstacle for a first-time user like me?

@qwert @SuperFloppies The initial learning curve is higher, however you will learn a lot about Linux based OS's in the process.I have written a 4 part guide[0] on how to install Arch Linux (it assumes a legacy bios) and Things I do after installing it [1]Have a read and see if it feels like it is something you want to try If its is not I would suggest that you look at Elementary Linux as well as Mint [0] https://hootiegibbon.gitlab.io/blog/2018/06/23/Install_Arch_Linux_Pt1.html[1] https://hootiegibbon.gitlab.io/blog/2018/07/04/Things_to_do_after_installing_Arch_Linux.html
