The concept described on this picture is good in two ways, because it puts it plain, that there’s a division between your self and everything else – the world. It goes unspoken, but it’s important in human relations.How should a Christian look inside these four windows? Where should the Bible be? If there would be you and no bible, would it be right? And if there would stand Bible, would it be as it is supposed to, if people will see it, and not you?As Christians believe, that all people have souls, that places person as an obligatory object inside the four windows. That goes for granted, as goes having a soul, that bears certain responsibility. Now how should a Christian take the Bible inside those four windows?Some would imagine themselves holding it in their hands. But this way the Bible is something not belonging to the person, not a part of them. It’s like they took somebody else with them inside. But not the living thing, just written thoughts of somebody else. Some would imagine themselves kind of saints, whose clothes are covered with pages from the Bible, thus shielding them from outer impurities. This way the Bible remains something separate from the person, their ego dominates over the scripture. In opposition to the latter, some would imagine themselves as a Bible with sticking out little hands and legs. They’ve diminished themselves, and now there is so little of them, that however you see, you will only see a walking book. Six hundred grams of walking paper. At last, some would find themselves standing alone and having the Bible inside, in their mindset. Their natural behaviour is in complete agreement with the essence of the book, and on top of holding that essence inside, they have a personality, which is much bigger. In the third window people would never see the Bible first, only with time.People always want to find a meaning for their life and justify their being, for existence without a meaning is stressful. The world constantly hurls around us, and we seek for an anchor to let go and stop us – we like to be at a still place, that gives a feeling of home. In the real world this emerges as the need of belonging to a group of like-minded. We appear in this world alone and from the early childhood observe, that all power belongs to various groups of people. In the store it’s the store workers, in the library that’s librarians. It forms in our brains the bond groups → significance, and people – especially the young ones – desperately seek to become a part of some established community. This mentally gives them +1 to their rank. Adult people have played enough roles in various communities and see the vanity of this. They start to seek for a great idea, that they could consider themselves to be a part of. This forms circles involved with science, pseudo-science or any deep niche with a big lore. And for the anchor they still use a book of somebody else’s thoughts. While their own book remains imponderable, for they do not have thoughts, that they could call their own. Those are the people, who hold one book, and there are myriads of them. ÂÂ1547705998.png

@tija @ReadTheBible @crushv @karolat This huge wall is a crass divergence from basic of heresiology. The bible is not any book. it is a written account on the tradition of God which climaxes with the Gospel that says what the hell God (basically) wants from his creation. What you are talking about is a huge problem in rationalist protestant circles but none at all in Orthodoxy since it offers much more that has been derived from holy scripture.
