#Inkscape gets slower with slightly larger files. Is it normal?

@noorul If there are a lot more elements in the image, it could be normal, even if the elements don't make the file size much bigger. Is that what you're seeing?

I agree to these points.I've using #GIMP for #photography & #typograpy work and #Inkscape for graphic/vector designing.I don't doubt Inkscape for 1-3 objects shaping & etc.Now I am considering shift typography to Inkscape for it's easy work flow.#Gimp handles alot of layers but I find Inkscape lose speed just with 20 objects with few gradients. Is it normal? I used to have alot of crash on Inkscape on Debian stable version but Debian testing is much better. Will you also spare your opinion for my shift?@ptvirgo

@noorul I did some more reading. Lots of people say Inkscape is slow if you have blur or gradients or filters.Maybe it will run okay for typography if you don't use those effects?

@noorul That does not sound normal - when I use Inkscape it can handle a lot more that 20 objects without slowing down.

I use #inkscape for 1 object , vector design per file. Then import to Gimp in layers. Gimp pixelating at edge when rotating the objects, so I am thinking to finish the job within inkscape.@ptvirgo

That's great!Yes, I do use blur, gradient, drop shadow & filters. I understand that Inkscape is made for vector image.I got an work flow idea to do the finishing of gradient, blur on Gimp after preparing overall work on Inkscape.I am not sure yet whether it's a better work flow. Let's find out.@ptvirgo
