@realitygaps I remember that the ADM squat used to be covered pretty extensively by indymedia. i feel like the general failures of indymedia to keep going have enabled a lot of abuses to occur in this world, such as the eviction of ADM.i am, however, hopeful that in the future we can leverage fediverse tech to build a more robust replacement to indymedia.

in fact, the possibility of leveraging fediverse tech to enable all people to become more engaged with the society around them, or perhaps, fediverse tech as civic tech, is one of the main reasons why i feel it is absolutely vital to get the security right.

@xj9 @realitygaps yes, as i wrote earlier this week: AP is what we have, whether we like it or not. it is the UNIX of transport protocols.the question is how can we go from 50% of what we need to 95% of what we need with AP, as modern UNIX has done.
