The best way to handle a situation like this is by controlling how your instance federates with others, i.e. blocking. (which you've already done afaict) Anything beyond that is honestly just needless aggression. You're not the Internet police.

I'm all for edgy jokes and shitposting (I mean look at my domain) but at the end of the day I have no problem with trans people, equality, etc. Sure, an edgy joke is okay or "hither did nothing wrong" but if you're an actual nazi or actually racist I don't really want to associate with you. I mean comedy is how we deal with tragedy. I get not everyone likes to joke about sensitive topics like racism or the holistic or whatever else but for me (and I assume other people) joking about things head on is how we deal with shitty situations.Last September I was in a wreck that paralised my right arm (I've also been posting some of my physical therapy under #PhysicalTherapy) . Yeah, it really sucks and I may never regain use of it but I've dealt with it by making jokes about it. If I can laugh about it then at least I won't be sad about it.Anyway, that's my stance on things. This is way more seriousposting than I'm used to but I think you might have had the wrong idea about me. Sure, I might joke about some sensitive stuff but that's not my actual opinion.Also, sorry for switching instances. Mastodon is being a dick right now.

@orekix @sjw also i am personally sorry for how this particular subthread went. in all seriousness, i understand that sjw is just joking around and doesn't mean any harm to anyone, and would love for them to use pleroma if they wish to.although, not right now. there's a lot of work that is still needed to be done in order to migrate a mastodon instance to pleroma. we have to add a replay mode to pleroma for example to make the process easy. right now i am testing the converter by using a seriously hacked up copy of pleroma.i would give it a couple of weeks...

I looked into it a few weeks ago thinking "It can't be that hard" and the further I looked in the DB the more I realised just how big of a task it was and realised it was beyond what I'm personally capable of.As for the domain, yeah. It's just poking fun at the far left.Actually, my biggest complaint about them is that I feel like they're hindering things like people accepting trans people. I know now whether someone tells me there trans it sort of brings a wave of never negative emotions and I fucking hate that.Most are just normal people just trying to live their lives and I have no problem with that. I just hate how I now have a knee jerk emotional reaction now because I used to not. Then, if I try to talk about it on a place like Reddit I get called racist, transphobic, etc. and get banned. I know there are other examples but it's late and that's all I can think of.However, at the same time the far right isn't any better. Actually, they're pretty similar. They both hate people.I've been thinking and IIRC I have some trans members and I'm pretty sure I have more gay/bi users tham straight. If I could just get some lesbians to sign up I'll be pretty well rounded.Also, speaking of that I've heard a lot of bi people are negatively affected and sometimes outright bullied because of stuff like "You can pretend to be straight." or "You're not really gay so you don't belong." (Nevermind the B in LGBT apparently)All that being said, of you're a level headed person I have no issue with you. It's just extremities I don't like. However, the right just had better memes (does the left even have any?) so that's where I tend to meme. However, my personal views are more liberal (at least in my opinion).

I'll say something like "Oh shit, I had no idea!" They'll reply with "Well, I'm technically trans." Then I start to feel all defensive and like I've been thrown into the middle of some kind of altercation then I think "Wait, they're cool. What am I getting all worked up about?"Even if they aren't going out of their way and I know them it still happens and that's the part that really bothers me because it'll happen with people I know and like. It makes me feel like I don't like them just because they're trans and I know that isn't the case. I have no problem with trans people, just the people who think trans people are better than everyone else and if you disagree you're just transphobic.However, somehow those people got associated with just trans people in general (even though they're a very small minority of trans people) and that's the problem.

Even though I know them and I know they're cool and wouldn't do that. I think it's mostly because of how I hear about them in the news that despite me knowing and understanding most trans people aren't like that, the extreme left has made a greater impact on me than just an everyday person so when first hearing about someone being trans my mind instantly goes to far left SJW until rational thought kicks in and I realise how stupid and shitty that is to assume. It's almost like a reflex.Though, this didn't start until about two and a half years ago. Before that it was sort of like someone telling me they had a blue skirt at home. Neat, blue shirts are cool and all but that's not a huge deal and I'm pretty indifferent to this news.

At least on here all the people like that willingly defederate with me so I end up not seeing it.
