I'm still looking for a beginner friendly 3D object design tool. I'm aware of FreeCAD, OpenSCAD and the likes, of course, but either I'm missing a helpful tutorial (links appreciated!) or I'm just too much of a noob when it comes to designing things. What's your favorite tool?

@fribbledom Is that something wrong with using Blender for such things?

@Mac_CZ @fribbledom blender works for sculpture type pieces but it's not great for mechanical design work due to its weak parametric modeling features (everything is really just a polygon in blender)

@fribbledom As for beginner friendlyness google's sketchup is probably way easier. The OpenSource tooling needs time to get used to. For OpenSCAD as well as FreeCAD there are video tutorials linked on the respective project sites.

@ckeen @fribbledom Take a look at Solvespace. It's easy to use FLOSS and it's fast. I've been working a couple of years with and I love it.
