i love tech and technology, but i don't like the idea of driverless commercial vehicles.can you imagine it? capitalism on the road powered by algorithms of profit and loss?corporations are motivated by profit. profit will drive them to cut costs. risk aversion is a cost. driverless cars will need to meet the "numbers".what corners will be cut?capitalism doesn't optimize for safety.

@scarly also there are few to no real applications of driverless cars that wouldn't be better handled by robust bus and rail networks - the purpose of them is to serve as a foil for privatizing and dismantling more efficient logistics infrastructure to make a profit. they actually meet that goal better as a mythical future technology than as an ever actually existing one
