I don't care for "imitation" dishes. stuff like "vegan omelets" or "vegan meat loafs" just remind me people use vegan as another way of saying "plant-based diet" when it's not.that's like calling anyone who believes in Christianity the Holy Spirit. It's just wrong

@jalcine Eh, I think as long as you have people who weren't vegan from birth you're gonna have a call for that. Food nostalgia is a powwwwwerful thing.

@jalcine for me having those imitation dishes is just another clear indicator that there was no reason to eat animals. I totally get where you’re coming from as far as moving beyond anything that is a remnant of animal slaughter, but I don’t think choosing to create a dish that gives that flavor sans suffering should preclude it from veganism.I’m just a tired ass old vegan tho. I figure as long as no animals were injured, I’m down for it.
